At 26:20 Thiel starts talking about the Singularity institute and MIRI. At 27:30 he disapprovingly reads MIRI’s new “Death with Dignity” strategy.

So it looks like Yudkowsky managed to alienate his largest donor.

I didn’t know you could have a single sentence say so much implicitly about who you are as a person, it’s astounding.

Fun fact, Dustin Moskovitz (co-founder of facebook and the *other* EA billionaire donor) has used his charity Good Ventures to give over 5$ million to fund research on parabiosis.

It's pretty funny that he goes from 'look at these nuts who think AI is going to bring the end of the world' to 'this reminds me of the antichrist' on the back of a Bostrom quote. Or maybe not funny but surreal, seeing weirdos triggering weirdos to be weirder. But I imagine that Biblical reference is frequently useful to motivating evangelicals to his politics.
