I’ve summarized these principles of GMU Economics:
We can propose insane ideas if we do it politely.
Our ideology doesn’t fit into either of two categories, so we
clearly are unbiased.
We aren’t affected by the insane shit we preach. Also, don’t
forget to cite a statistic like a totally scientific poll on Twitter
that totally doesn’t have any sampling bias.
Gambling brings out the best of human rationality.
Make no attempt to make your ideas popular.
Debate us! Pay us attention.
(Unintelligable)
Pay no attention to the money we get from the Koch brothers, it
has no affect on us.
Our interpetation of Bayes theorem solves all philosophical
issues. (But never apply Bayes Rule to itself.)
What’s interesting is Caplan and Co. see themselves as
different because they follow these guidelines.
I always saw myself as different from them because I kept roughly
(though less hyperbolically) those sorts of guidelines in mind, and
didn’t reify them into ridiculous lists of rules the way it always seems
to me everybody is always doing.
for example. Yeah I fucking hate Jeremy Corbyn, also I’m a Labour
member and will vote Labour in the next election. Funny how that
works.
Are these the same chucklefucks who accidentally showed that
universal healthcare would be cheaper when their Koch Brother bosses
specifically told them to do the opposite?
Yes, so they figured out ways to make the numbers seem big anyway, by accumulating it over 30 years, and also having the news media imply that this would be an additional cost, not the total cost: https://twitter.com/ARmastrangelo/status/1041414058614943744

Try disingenuousness and bad faith as a modus operandi rather than the ten-point list of self-indulgent ego stroking.
Bryan anCaplan is literally that Hitler meme.

Suck up to the powerful.

People should start taking shits on this guy’s desk and leaving notes about how using toilets are not part of their culture.
