Convincing a large group of otherwise intelligent people that a
future AI overlord is going to ruin humanity unless they donate 10% of
their income could be considered a form of spiritual abuse, even if the
target victim market can afford the cost. If anything it just shows that
the belief system is highly fitted to its host population for
sustainability.
