A brilliant idea from Mr Musk, but I think it could be improved
upon.
What if instead of driving your own car in the tunnel, there was some
sort of vehicle that could transport a large number of people
simultaneously? And what if, instead of roads in the tunnel, they had
some sort of track that the vehicle was riding on, for the sake of
safety and reliability?
It needs a catchy name; I was thinking of “sub-passage” or possibly
“underground way”.
The whole of Silicon Valley is now just libertarian WASPs reinventing the wheel and then giving it minimalist redesign and a new name like 'CRCL' or 'round' (all lowercase).

And what did the world pay this man for his genius of the tunnel,
electric cars with space age handles and tintin styled chrome
spaceships? 2.3 billion dollars.
He should just build and then abandon a megadungeon under the city.
Far greater social good, probably better at transport in certain areas,
and he can hide his wealth away so the SEC and others can’t steal
it.
Once they allow only robot-driven cars into the hyperloop, he will truly become the inventor of “car-pal tunnel syndrome”

Elon Musk: “What if I put you inside a death trap inside another death trap?”
Internet fanboys: “What a genius! It’s infinitely scalable! Traffic is solved forever!”
i don’t see the line of people waiting to use the tunnel in the twitter race video…
