I provided the image for that card before I knew what the text was gonna be, figured it's be the picture of Eliezer-sensei that's best suited to a fantasy setting.

I'm the resident Less Wrong cultist on our Discord server. I've read and liked HPMOR and being an AI cultist is also very fun because it makes me feel like I'm in some sci-fi novel. However, I also enjoy reading all the shit-talk of Less Wrong. Basically this is all very funny to me.
I couldn't get far into HPMOR. The writing is obnoxiously obtuse and the way he treats the characters is like kinda flippant like noo my boy Ron :(. I figured out kinda early that the author was mere writing the story as a pretense to espouse his ideas on AI, Materialism, Science or in some cases scientism and I checked out pretty early.
I instead read his sequences, became a fan for two weeks before becoming disillusioned and depressed, leading me to wander into places I won't say here. All I will say though is hopefully, I understand the world a little better and I have HPMOR to thank for that for better or worse.
I hope it's not impolite to plug the [SpaceBattles "Let's Read"](https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/the-wizard-of-woah-and-irrational-methods-of-irrationality.337233/) of HPMOR. It's... quite funny. Picture a text-based Mystery Science Theater episode, but with that good ol' sneer club taste baked right in!
Highlights include:
* Beating on scientism, a lot
* The main reader gradually losing his sanity because of this project
* a LessWrong cultist showing up, but being phenomenally bad at debate
* The author of one of the more infamous sequel-fics (Ginny Weasley and the Sealed Intelligence) showing up and having a pretty earnest conversation
Playing both sides of the karma game now, are we? 😛
Why do you have to include the Pearl book. Judea Pearl doesn’t deserve this.
So… whats your story?
