arbitrary and unjust policing

“Not a problem …unless I’m on the receiving end of it.” - RatBros, apparently

Praxis occurring through the fight against App Store regulations. That sure is something.

I love how they don't seem to even realize that the only solution here is anti monopoly regulations. The issue with the phone market is that even though at the level of "smartphones" it is a duopoly, at the practical level it effectively functions as 2 separate monopolies. Apple is a monopoly in the niche of selling apps to iPhone owners, and Google is a monopoly in the niche of selling apps to Android owners, and in those niches their monopoly is entirely uncontested.

No, not the apps!

Semi-idle thought, but it seems to me like there’s a lot of HackerNews on the sub lately, and while a lot of it is funny (and due to my own excessive consumption of online over the last few months I’m trying to cut back on “this is outside our wheelhouse”) a lot of it borders pretty strongly on “this is outside our wheelhouse”

Black people getting arrested at much higher rates for breaking arbitrary laws like “loitering” and “resisting arrest”? No big deal to this guy.

My dumb app is banned from the App Store? Serious Business, look at all this discrimination and 1984 style censorship!
