I love how they don't seem to even realize that the only solution here is anti monopoly regulations. The issue with the phone market is that even though at the level of "smartphones" it is a duopoly, at the practical level it effectively functions as 2 separate monopolies.
Apple is a monopoly in the niche of selling apps to iPhone owners, and Google is a monopoly in the niche of selling apps to Android owners, and in those niches their monopoly is entirely uncontested.
Semi-idle thought, but it seems to me like there’s a lot of
