OTOH, he’s an influential techy wanker (“thought leader”) who could be a textbook case of Dunning-Kruger syndrome and the transferable-experience fallacy and, for bonus points, is transferring his thought leadership and programming-language intuition into a generalcy in the right-wing culture war. So there’s that.
I think you’re misinterpreting that comment - they’re saying that the people getting angry at the article for criticising PG are the ones who are just believing what they want to believe
