i really don’t get it.

imagine if you learned everything you know about finance from cryptocurrency propaganda

They think cryptocurrency is a con! They're not even trying to sell an nft!
Stopped clocks

bro educate yourself bro the banks have all the money bro read a book

fine fine ive been meaning to get around to the protocols of the elders of gringotts anyway e: I just have rowling on the brain, this is an entirely different weird thing.
lol
If I go to a restaurant, eat a meal, and then shit in their toilet, why do they charge me even though I already gave them their food back???

that money someone else deposited is not the bank’s money.

Yeah, it is.

Borrowing someone elses stuff does not tranfer owenrship

neither does depositing it in the bank, thus it is not the bank’s money.

it was always the banks money and now they have it back.

What they should have done is tell the person attempting to deposit that they had been mislead.

I think I’m having some kind of mystical experience.

>>Is this a very confusing way to sell us on Crypto? >Not at all, crypto is just another con. *how*
Bet they're just mad buying gold is old hat now.
honestly baffling.

Imagine being the bank clerk on the receiving end of this compaint over a default.

They do say they've used this amazing knowledge to cancel their debts. so.
I mean, by this absurd reasoning, in which, I guess, money is no longer a medium of exchange, the garnished wages and seized assets are just, like, unrelated...? Also probably canceled the possibility of any future debt by, you know, tanking their credit score to bedrock.
Don't worry, they can do some more sovcittery when they're broke again.
sovereign shitheads will believe anything the aryan brotherhood tell them.

Look i think money is fake and even i know this isn’t how anything works.

for anyone who wants to view more of the thread: it’s hard to follow

Holy shit that thread was funny, thanks for sharing~
what a bizarre thread. if this is a high level troll, well done.
that’s what i was thinking. either a master troll or a very strange choice of hill to die on.

this is more confused than bitcoin bros, and that’s saying something

I mean, even if this made the slightest bit of sense, what if Person B puts the money in a different bank?

someone else tried to explain it by reference to the actual physical cash (which is supremely unhelpful) and it being returned to the bank (which is not how banking works). logic is not the path here.

I do appreciate how the other people get sucked into long conversations trying to figure out what the hell he’s trying to say and then explain why he’s wrong. It’s truly bizarre.

I can’t facepalm hard enough for this post without breaking a few bones… 🤦🏻‍♂️

it is truly painful. there are more comments in the thread too, all equally bad.

My friend has read this post like five times and he still doesn’t get it. Can someone help explain it to him?

RGbudvit thinks all money in the bank belongs to the bank. also thinks that all loans and deposits function as a single ledger so if they borrow a dollar and someone deposits a dollar then the bank has all of its money back so RGbudvit no longer owes the bank. also possibly conflating physical dollars in there somewhere. an incorrect way of understanding banking.
I mean on one basic level, ignoring the stuff outside the screenshot, that kind of is how banking works (it’s at least *a* reason why banks generally aren’t allowed to operate by just issuing paper willy-nilly! If you hand out credit and eventually don’t find a return that can cause problems), it’s just that it’s a - shall we say - unsystematic way of looking at things
the poster also doesnt believe in ledgers..
oh did it go even further off the deep end after i stopped responding?

sweet im famous. In fairness to themotte posters, this one tard’s hot take on why banks shouldnt exist was severely downvoted and he ultimately copped some sort of moderator warning for being a dick. He then declare he wouldnt be coming back to themotte. Win for the mod team there?

thank you for that context, i haven’t checked back on the comment in a few days actually, but most of what i see on themotte is reasonable and earnest.
