look, it's just unfair to assume that a multi-thousand-word essay that someone worked on for ages to express their beliefs can be used as evidence of their beliefs
Nah codex is a common enough nerdy word. [For example](https://dungeonsdragons.fandom.com/wiki/Codex_of_the_Infinite_Planes) just the word for book before modern books existed basically. Gives an air of timelessness/ancient wisdom if you are a nerdy type. Or makes you sound like a weirdo if you aren't.
The word "codex" is derived from "co-dextrous" ie "both hands together" because a book is held with both hands, or perhaps because the two opposing pages are seen as two figurative hands compared to the single hand of a scroll.
I made that up by the way, it's almost definitely bullshit. I'm trying to break into folk etymology, I hear it's a lucrative career if you're okay with your audience being composed of sexagenarian Parade readers.
You made me go look up the real origin of codex, but I'll keep it to myself because I would never dream of contradicting our resident folk etymologist.
I almost was going to explain that well, achtually, a codex is just a book where the pages are not made out of paper. Almost. (My ebook is a codex ;) )
oh man, the phenomenon of the hallucinatory cactus people is so
fucking cool and interesting, it makes me legit mad that Scott has
fucked it up somehow. (I am definitely not gonna read the piece.)

Nerds. And if you think the name is sneerworthy, wait till you figure out the subtext.
But have you read The Sequences?!
If you can’t get away with LARPing as a scientist you can always LARP as a priest.
I actually think this name sounds kind of cool, but only if you don’t name your own series of essay that. Then it’s just kind of lame.
But then, I’m one of those cursed nerds.
well mein kampf was already taken
To me sounds like naming your community along the lines of “the order of the server rack” or something. Sounds weird.
