I pull on my eyelashes when I’m bored or anxious. I pull just hard enough to lift my eyelid up a little and then let go so it makes a little “pop.” It’s very calming for whatever reason.
Just tried. Could not achieve a pop.
I’ve been practicing for over 50 years, so it’s pretty easy for me.
Not sure how unusual it is but I it’s quite uncommon around here: I don’t watch tv. I have not owned a tv set since the early 00s and I don’t miss having one (we watch DVDs on a computer). I also do not listen to news channels at all—and I don’t miss them either, as I prefer to read a couple daily newspapers (one from each side of our political spectrum, to make sure I never fell asleep within my own certainties/values).
I don’t own a tv and don’t use any mainstream social media. I just have my one lemmy account but I don’t really share that with anyone. Some people immediately call me a serial killer. Neat, I guess.
I grew up using computers and the internet as my escapism so I’m just as addicted to screens like every other person I know, just not the same screens they use.
Kinda strange being the lone person who played games on a computer while all my friends were console players.
Whenever I have sweets I tear the wrapper into pieces and fiddle with the pieces
Almost every meal at home involves me adding slivers of california reapers to my dish by taking scissors to a dried pepper.
Who hurt you? And why are you trying to recreate the pain?
Plenty of people, and also myself. And I couldn’t tell you.
When driving in a car or bus, I tap my feet between every one of those strips in the middle of the road. Also for street lamps, or anything else that repeats along the way.
I don’t always do this, and could also tap my fingers or stuff, but very often do.
Alt-text: Drawing of a road, with red dots between those lines in the middle of the road, indicating where I tap, when I cross it.
