God for a while I thought those idiots in the EU would finally grasp the cyber security and ethical implications of surveillance, but it seems they are just caving again. Why does the average joe have to know and fight for this while our EU representatives are just playing with fire?

Also W Mullvad, it seems they truly are reliable on privacy if they care enough to dig in.

Worth nothing that the “EU representatives” pushing for this in large part consists of the council, which is just representatives of national governments. The Danes have the Council presidency at the moment (and until December), and they have been pushing like hell for this.

The average Joe have to fight for this because the average Joe is also voting for politicians who dont give a shit about their right to privacy, while sending money to tech companies who lobby for increased surveillance over regulation of the industry.

Sadly this is the EU at its most democratic. We voted for these idiots.
