I get there are still users but it feel empty at times compared “other” platforms.

Why isint lemmy more popular?

    Because they’d come here, try to locate their niche communities only to find that either none of them exist or that they do, but they are ghost towns. I find it insensitive for anyone to tell another to “make the community you want to make” while being tone deaf to the fact that while the numbers are seemingly there, the activity doesn’t match it.

    Lemmy and the Fediverse only seem to care about politics, technology, programming, linux, games and memes.

      yeah, zero of my niche reddit interests are here.

      i never got banned or harassed in those communities. i got banned/harassed from my city subreddit over politics and pointing out how entitled and crazy a lot of the posters there were.
