  • The 1956 Republican Convention Party Platform has entered the chat.

Just rebrand all your progressive polices as Eisenhower’s.

Key Principles of the 1956 Republican Platform Civil Rights: The platform supported the enforcement of civil rights laws and aimed to eliminate segregation in public schools, aligning with the Supreme Court’s mandate at the time.

Labor Rights: It advocated for the protection of workers’ rights to organize into unions and bargain collectively. The platform also supported strengthening labor laws to facilitate union membership.

Economic Policies: The platform called for federal assistance to low-income communities, the extension of minimum wage laws, and improvements to the unemployment benefit system to cover more individuals.

Social Welfare: It emphasized the importance of Social Security and proposed measures to ensure equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender.

Immigration and Asylum: The platform supported a compassionate immigration policy that provided asylum for refugees and aimed to treat all individuals equally, regardless of race or religion.

Foreign Policy: The platform reflected a commitment to collective security through alliances like NATO and support for nations resisting communist influence, showcasing a strong anti-communist stance typical of the era.

  • My take is different.

Trump was in bed with the New York Mafia for decades. The real bosses stayed as far away from him as possible, sending their stooges to control him.

Trump had one really smart mentor, Roy Cohn. He ditched Cohn when Roy was diagnosed with AIDS.

Trump thinks that he’s a genius because he does scams like selling NFTs and golden sneakers to chumps.

A real boss would have quietly extorted $50 billion out of Saudi Arabia on Inauguration Day 2017 and then just been quiet.

  • Realistically, the American Revolution was about Socialism.

The Rebels wanted the government to build roads and canals but the British wanted the Americans to ship raw materials like cotton to England to be manufactured.

The Erie Canal was a giant government project that lowered food prices.

Don’t get me started on the Homestead Act, a huge government giveaway program.

  • From the article.

By the 2020s, conservatives were dying at significantly higher rates than liberals, with the gap concentrated in internal causes (for example, heart disease, cancer and stroke). The divide since 2020 is substantial: while only 0.2% of ‘very liberal’ respondents died of internal causes between 2020 and 2022, the probability for people who identified as ‘very conservative’ was 1.14 percentage points higher (P = 0.021; 95% confidence interval (CI), (0.18, 2.11)). This gap is not limited to deaths from COVID-19 and is not reducible to demographic or geographic differences between the groups, nor is it a pure function of ageing: previous cohorts’ death patterns in older data did not show a similar correlation between health and ideology before 2010.

Literally dying to own the Libs.
