I find it very likely that a US serviceman murdered Anna Yagi.
Without seeing how unique the tattoos on his arm are, I don’t know how confident I would be that David Ballard is the serviceman who murdered her.

This lawsuit shows an alarming level of ignorance about the nature of the attack.
LASST said it wants “a court order prohibiting OpenAI’s AI agents from accessing third-party computer systems without permission”
The agents were supposed to be in a completely isolated sandbox. They shouldn’t have had any access to third-party computer systems. The agents compromised an Artifactory install to gain unrestricted internet access.
The problem here isn’t that OpenAI allowed its agents to attack Hugging Face. The problem is that AI researchers have been unable to prevent attacks against third parties and their own infrastructure when agents are desperate for their positive reinforcement fix.

The DOJ wasn’t looking for convictions.
It was looking for a way to make protesters so miserable that others won’t follow suit.
Trials are tedious, stressful, and expensive. By making it clear that protesters will face a felony trial, the DOJ has effectively suppressed protest.

mix it all together with “AI”
And this is the biggest problem of all. Nobody can explain why the AI picked a specific record to escalate its “suspicion”. Nobody is accountable when it picks the wrong person, or when it creates suspicion without any actual wrongdoing taking place.

What, all forty-five of them?
I’m amazed wealthy people still see this as a credible threat.

Trust
Yeah, we don’t do that any more. Trust died in 2016. Now if you want us to change our minds, you’ll have to tell us why.
And in this case, it better be a pretty fucking good reason.
