That’s been my experience. Steam controller, Xbox One controllers, 8bitdo sn30, 8bitdo ultimate mg have all worked fine for me on 3 different laptops, desktop, and steam link.

I have a laptop with an Rx 7600s. There was two games I had to use prime-run because they wanted to use the igpu instead. Other then that haven’t had to. The two games were Verdun and Tannenberg. Isonzo works perfect though.
I have a laptop and a desktop with a GTX 1060 that run fine, and another laptop with a GTX 1050ti that is also great. Running Arch with KDE and Wayland. No problems.
I bought the Asus Tuf A16 AMD Advantage laptop. I installed Arch on it and it’s been great. Got it for $600 on eBay. Put 32gb of RAM in it and a 2tb nvme drive into the second slot. Left the 512gb drive it came with.
The past 2 years I’ve only been using Arch with KDE plasma. It was the one that clicked with me and got me to stay using Linux. Before I ran pop! Os for a little while and didn’t really like it or gnome then I went back to windows.
You boot into your installation media and type archinstall then pick the options you want. You can do it the manual way but Arch install works great.
I installed pavucontrol and don’t have any steam inputs or outputs although the streaming audio out does work.
Sweet I’ll read through it. I am using pipewire instead of pulse. Would that effect it at all?
Awesome thank you. I will try it out. The way I first wrote my post I thought it sounded more like I was connecting the headset straight to the laptop.
I might not of explained myself well. The setup is laptop with steam --> Google Chromecast/tv with steam link app. Kids playing on TV with Bluetooth earbuds connected to Chromecast. On Windows you get an audio device called steam streaming microphone that you can select for your audio input. Then it basically passes through the audio input from the device running the steam link app.
I’m on KDE so what would you change in the sound settings? The only option I see is the built in microphone.
Just used Arch install. Later on when I launched discover it said it couldn’t be used without flatpak. So I installed flatpak and that was it.

That’s what I’m trying to do. All I want to do is try out kmail which I’m assuming is a flatpak because that’s the only option I see to install it. But non of the apps.kde.org software pulls up in discover.
I am on Arch but I have already installed flatpak with pacman. Everything else works on Discover. The only thing that doesn’t is specifically all of the KDE software.
I choose what I want when I install. I use Arch btw
Yep it works fine on my LCD deck.
Been using KDE for 2 years and love it. Only weird issue is my old desktop i am running Arch with KDE headless to stream to the steam link in the kids room and plasma shell crashes a bunch. Still haven’t figured out why.
Started rim world again after a year break.
My desktop still has a 1060. It’s not great in new games but still works.
