Privacy@programming.dev•Android users can't remove nude-scanning app as Google opens the feature to app developers
17·16 days agoSo Google won’t make APIs that allow developers access to RCS and therefore the ability to integrate it into third party messaging clients, but this is potentially kosher? Go fuck your hat Alphabet.

Gaming@lemmy.zip•Rather than calling for GTA 6 boycott, fired Rockstar workers urge players to support them in their legal battle against the studio by buying union merchEnglish

I’m in no way associated with them, I spent all of 10 seconds searching for those links, there is some indication the two links might ultimately go to the same place, but either way I thought I’d drop them in the comments if there was anyone else like me that would want to throw them some money but didn’t need another “thing” in return.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Women who consider themselves unattractive, what’s something men don’t realize about how they treat you compared to women they find attractive?

uhhhhhhhhh that’s never seemed like a great idea for a variety of reasons 😅
Why are you quoting item #3 from their list without the full context of the statement? They aren’t saying the code should be accepted or used. They are basically saying don’t automatically assume malicious intent on the contributor and instead use it as an opportunity to potentially teach that contributor about why that kind of contribution will be rejected and what they could do instead. It’s all about outreach.

Honestly, pretty much what I do now just probably a more glamorized or idealistic version of it. My favorite toys growing up were wooden building blocks and Duplo and from a very young age I (incorrectly) mapped what I enjoyed about those things to the profession of architecture and that’s what I always told people that’s what I wanted to do.
Luckily I was able to figure out that what I really enjoyed and wanted to do was engineering. As long as I’m designing things and solving problems I’m pretty happy. It doesn’t really matter what the context is.
