The problem with AI, for me, is that it writes a lot of good looking code. It doesn’t really take the architecture into consideration so it rearchitects all the time. The big kicker is how code reviews are presented in GitHub. The changes can look mostly fine but just not work with the rest of the code and you won’t see it in a pr.

Straight hallucinations are also fun to catch. One time it created an API out of thin air, wrote tests for it, we got it merged and it didn’t work at all.

I don’t know how to prevent that without actually testing and running through the code. Is my boss really going to be happy if I spend a few hours doing code reviews for my colleagues for every change? I know I need to be doing that regardless, but it just doesn’t happen.

Whats wrong with snaps? My only “issue” with appimages is i tend to leave them in my downloads folder and lose them

I’ve been with my partner for 6 months and we still use condoms. Pregnancy is not the only risk.

Ai tanks my problem solving skills, surprisingly fast too. I stopped using it, but now I’m being directed to basically only vibe code or get fired. I hate this reality

We are all in on AI at work finally. I want to keep my job so I guess I have to stop being a Luddite.

I am mortgaging my career though. Letting AI do the work saps my problem solving skills and I lose what I have spent my whole career building.

I was a nervous kid. I didn’t try alcohol until 20 and weed till I was 31. They can be fun but remember your brain is still developing. Don’t really use them until that has stopped. They have profoundly negative effects on your developing brain.

And alcohol is literally just poison. Id avoid that completely if you don’t have a strong desire to drink. I say that as a neurodivergent that self medicates with alcohol. It’s not good stuff.

Some communities are closer to their culture than others. I sometimes call myself Irish American but I didn’t grow up with Irish culture and know nothing about it.

l fantasize about moving to Ireland mostly because I hate America and want out, knowing that it’d be a big culture shock if I left and I may not get accepted because I’m American.
