Movie theaters. Post-pandemic, tickets are more expensive, cinemas are more run-down, and movie theater etiquette has gone out the window.

1·2 天前Mullvad is free. I specifically chose them because they are very transparent with their no-log policy and consistently publish their 3rd party audit reports. I used Aha before and it’s actually even more customizable because you can select the exact filters you want to use. Mullvad only has preconfigured filter sets.

2·2 天前Yes, Mullvad and AhaDNS for example have profiles that you can install on your phone so all traffic, regardless of your network connection, uses their DNS servers. I use Mullvad’s base config that blocks ads, tracking, and malware domains.

1·2 天前The concept of having a single mathematically verifiable, unchangeable record of ownership that doesn’t depend on a nation state is still theoretically useful and interesting though
That’s the thing, a lot of people think blockchain technology = cryptocurrency when the latter is only one kind of implementation of the former. Blockchain itself has its uses and is amazing technology, but it gets conflated with cryptocurrency being used as an unreliable investment vehicle.

5·5 天前That’s likely the PR answer. For all we know, he doesn’t give a shit about the source material and he’s just doing a job he’s being paid to do. And there’s nothing wrong with that. As long as he plays the character as it was written and he does it well, I don’t see any issue.
My city is in perpetual drought, so any rain is welcome. Also, rain means you get to skip irrigating your lawn and you save some water.
I do a websearch in this format:
simple <dish name> recipe
I likely will always have a couple of missing ingredients so a simple version has a higher likelihood of me being able to make it.
Not just the US. Philippines, Togo, Cayman Islands, and Greenland apparently also use MM/DD/YYYY in some way or form. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_date_formats_by_country
Half of them were already False for me. I think I remember right clicking and seeing an AI option that I said no to. That probably disabled some of the features listed.
They’re specifically talking about Zero Trust though and treating it like a corporate device as the joke. This means authenticate at every layer, RBAC, and endpoint security compliance before allowing access to a service. Putting the device into an isolated guest VLAN works too of course.

5·7 天前Check first what information is required to sign up again with a new account. Like the other commenter said, they might be asking for actual ID now just to sign up. In that case, just sell somewhere else. If you are able to sign up without providing any personal information, use facebook on a browser only. Firefox with uBO and facebook container. Use an email specifically made for that account and don’t use it anywhere else.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your response to people saying "data privacy doesn't matter because it's all out there anyway"?English
11·7 天前Tell them about surveillance pricing. It’s a good example because the information “already out there” is used to influence how much the stuff they buy costs. Another example would be unsecure home security/doorbell cameras that anyone on the internet can watch (if you know where to find them). Their camera feeds are “already out there”, so ask them if that’s ok.

1·8 天前Thanks for the info. Whatsapp is a pretty low bar so anything else would be better at this point lol. Given I only use it for one specific purpose (neighborhood group chat), I’m inclined to try Beeper out.
