  • I can kinda get that. I probably see more ads than I think I do. Self adblock from your brain.

I don’t know if it’s my spectrum brain or if this happens to other people. But I realized that I have literally mistlenly trained my brain to ignore REALLY OBVIOUS warning signs because they basically are designed the same as ads.

I’m the idiot trying to figure out why something isn’t working with the big sign next to me telling me why.

Small tiny text sign in black on white. Well, that looks important. I’ll read that. Big red bold and underlined sign. Can’t fucking see it.

  • I abolished it almost entirely from my life since I was about 10 years old. Have spent most of my media consumption on the internet with adblock. I honestly think it made me smarter. Not, in like a book smart way. But just having a better sense of reality.

The Superbowl is one of the only times I see ads every year. It just shocks me. Not that “ads work on people” but that people don’t just go read a book or rent a dvd instead. Like, they are so fucking awful and ruin any watching experience.

Its amazing that there is a large portion of the population that literally spends 10%-20% of their media time watch ads.

  • I’m sorry I’m capable of using my brain and knowing THE LEADER OF THE PARTY, the person that leads and directs policy for their entire term in office, THE PRESIDENT, is the person to blame for being weak and not whipping votes to get their policies passed.

What is this brick wall you’ve built up in your mind between the Democratic party and its leader?

Is it so you don’t have to address the failure? Like poor ol lil Biden tried so hard but HIS OWN PARTY is to blame? Gee, I guess Trump has nothing to do with funding ICE like a second military. He clearly had no control. That was the House and the Senate that voted for it. /s

    Do you hear yourself?

It’s so pathetic that you bring up my original comment as being unrelated. It’s not. You’re too stupid to understand it. That’s not my fault.

What is my fault is I made the assumption you were not stupid. I made the assumption that you understood a small amount of how the system works. I apologize for the “jump” you felt because you lacked basic understanding of the topic.

But, now, I’ve literally tried to spoon feed you some basics and you’re grabbing the spoon and shoving it in your ear while screaming “ugh! What does that have to do with that?! My brain can’t comprehend how that works!”

You’re so stupid that you see me explaining things to you as “shifting the goal post”. I’m not pivoting my argument dude. I’m trying to put basic information into your brain and it keeps bouncing off the smooth surface.

  • If they voted to end the filibuster (something they only need 51 votes to do. As it’s a rule and not a bill) they could have passed student loan forgiveness (a bill) with even 2 of the 53 Democrats at the time not voting for it. Meaning a simple 51 vote majority. They could have passed a Green New Deal. They chose not to.

Like, how do you not get what I’m talking about? Like, can you not connect basic things together?

I started talking about the filibuster because I incorrectly assumed someone reading or replying would have a minimal level of understanding of our system of governance.

The president leads the party. They lead policy and push for whips to whip votes in the House and Senate. To pretend that the Democrats and Joe Biden were “stuck” is idiotic.

Just because you don’t understand how things work to get legislation passed doesn’t mean it “has nothing to do with it”. It means you don’t understand it. I can explain more if you want. But you are grandstanding on your own ignorance and it’s quite frankly embarrassing.

  • So, out of college my first job was at Cisco. I worked on IOS. I was a good programmer for someone just out of college and after my first year I owned the entire power system part of the code for the new line of switches to be released.

I killed myself working that first job. Literally have back pain to this day and have hearing loss from being in lab with loud fans.

I was, however, promoted slower than many other engineers that joined at the same time.

What I came to realize is that companies do not want or care about good maintainable code or features. They care about the amount commits or bugs you close. They don’t care if you create 100 more bugs in that process. I realized this one day working with an engineer that had been promoted twice when I had only been once. He had no fucking clue what he was doing.

Say the bug was something like. The CLI was outputting the wrong index for the card in slot physical slot 5.

Now, me, I’d spend time looking for the source of this. All 7 slots use the same indexing loop in the CLI print. It’s clearly an issue on what is being written as the index in the backend. The loop is hard coded to 0-6 but it is pulling the cards user displayed index using the values written to non volatile storage. I’d find the source of the issue. Verify that slot 5 was actually displaying the correct info for that card and being associated with that cards eeprom dump correctly. I mean the bug is “slot 5 is showing wrong index” but it could actually be just repeating all info for slot 6 in slot 5. Need to make sure all info is correct and that this isn’t causing another CLI with these same dependencies to fail in another way.

This guy. He’d write an if statement to subtract 1 from the print index if the index in the loop was slot 5. 2 lines of code. Fixed. Next bug.

AI is perfect for the garbage dump that is the major corporations. These were the people getting promoted.

Ironically. I’m the kind of engineer that will actually keep his job. The code monkeys are the ones that will be cut as the AI “fixes” shit just like they do.

But now we have to cleanup the AI garbage instead of the garbage code the “senior engineer” wrote.

  • Do you see how you are stuck going in a circle making an excuse for no progress being made? Well, Biden tried but he got blocked by the supreme court. Well, Biden tried but he didn’t have enough votes. Well, Biden tried but pushing the Senate Democrats to end the filibuster is bad for future politics. We have to “work with the Republicans”. What would happen if the Republicans had a 51 vote majority? Like, how old are you? Are you a gen Z new to this dance of nothing being done the Democrats do? If so, I forgive you a bit more. But if you’re over 33 and saying this shit. Aren’t you tired of defending mediocre failures of presidents like Obama and Biden?

You’re constantly stuck in a cycle of reasoning to yourself why good things are not possible.

I don’t judge politician’s based on what they TRY to do. I judge politician’s by RESULTS. Do you see how incredibly weak and useless Biden was as a President? No one with a functioning brain thought the executive order wouldn’t be blocked. Hell, Bidens brain was barely functioning and he even knew it would be blocked. That’s why he did it.

He did it exactly for people like you to point at later to point to TRYING instead of results. It’s why you can’t just admit that 0.85% of student loans being forgiven is essentially nothing. You can’t look at RESULTS because there are none.

The entire point of the presidency is to LEAD the party. Look at Trump. He’s an awful fucking president in terms of policy and results. But he is able to whip actual votes.

If the president can’t whip votes within the Senate to get his legislation passed he is useless. The legislation is nothing more than a carrot on a stick for voters. Every Democrat president will TRY to do something and will always fail to get any meaningful results. Giving Biden credit for TRYING is useless. It’s exactly what a Democrat president is meant to do. Fail to pass policy that actually helps people.

It’s been the entire purpose of the party since the rise of neoliberalism.

  • You realize Biden did an executive order for student loans because he couldn’t get the votes in Congress right? This is what the supreme court blocked.

Removing the filibuster rule (something they CAN do with a 51 vote majority) would have made it possible to pass laws with a simple majority of 51 votes. They had 53 Democrats sitting in the Senate and a majority in the House when Biden took office.

It’s funny that you needed this explained to you to understand why I was talking about the filibuster. You are so uneducated that you couldn’t even understand what I was talking about. So instead of using your brain you instead concluded “what does this have to do with student debt? Am I stupid? No! It must be him!”

Here, you might need to watch this while the adults talk.

  • I’m literally worried about buying a new car. It was bad enough when I did in 2019 getting a car with actual buttons and still half the basic features I have to tap a screen for. It’s never, never felt comfortable like my old Mazda3 2012 or Honda Civic 2003 did. I just want fucking buttons and knobs man. I also hate all of the “safety features”. Which are just essentially “feel safer while using your phone and driving” features that all the idiots on the road use them as. Everyone can see your lane assist correcting you every 5 seconds Debra! You’re gonna kill someone.

To the common person. Maybe. But China seems to be pretty willing to fuck with America for the time being and keeps creating more efficient and more application specific AI models (while the US is just chasing some dream of a generalized AI that is hitting a brick wall hard).

I think the actual useful AI models we use in 10 years will be much more like what China is focusing on; and a generalized AI will not actually be achievable.

When the bar is so low that the crack addict fail son has a better moral compass than most every politician and rich oligarch.

When the sex tape leaks and you’re proud of the women he’s with being clearly at least over 30.

Dude is a disconnected rich crack addicted fail son. But he’s Americas disconnected rich crack addicted fail son with no reason to think he’s a pedophile. He might as well be Jesus Christ himself if we’re judging on a curve.

  • When the Republicans vote to end the current fillabuster rules to pass stuff that hurts Americans all power will be given to the Republicans. They will go nuclear and have no one to stop them short of rewriting the constitution. And you know who defends against laws that violate the Constitution? The supreme court does. The same supreme court that overturned the “superprecident” of Roe v. Wade. This will all happen before the elections in November.

When that happens; I hope you remember it and think “hmmm, maybe that guy knew what he was talking about”. The Democrats could have done this when they had majority in the Senate. And now the Republicans are doing it to literally nationalize elections and fund ICE standing outside every polling station.

The only reason the Republicans haven’t ended the fillabuster yet is because the Democrats literally keep passing all the shit they want. Hell, they might not even need to end the fillabuster because the Democrats are so submissive to them.

Now the Democrats could have ended the fillabuster. They could have passed the Green new deal, student loan forgiveness, and things that were actually good. Instead, they use it as an excuse to get nothing good done and try to go other routes like Biden did and got blocked by the supreme court.

Because I do know what I’m talking about. The Biden administration could have passed student loan forgiveness day one and a massive infrastructure bill. They could have had 4 years of helping the working class and solidifying their support like FDR. They didn’t. They spent all their time funding a genocide instead.

When you get so use to nothing good being done you’ll defend 0.85% of something being done as if it was 100%.
