I’m not a fan of Kelly, but “ballrooms, bankruptcy, and bullshit” is a good line.

Ok fine. Fuck the Kennedy Center for ever and ever.

Poor baby. Hope he gets attacked and put out of his misery.

Just the fucking worst people in the world.

Yes, and the trend feels like it’s correlated with the number of Teslas around here.

Nothing has more effectively undermined my confidence in and allegiance to the prevailing culture and society of the United States than our nonsensically self destructive systemic support for an organization as comically evil as Israel.
It’s the growing suspicion that all of the time effort and knowledge we are sacrificing is actually making the world worse and hurting people.

Buttigieg is exactly the kind of unprincipled self-interested milquetoast corporate operator that I expect Democratic Party leadership to think will “unite” the electorate. He wont. He’s the embodiment of the shallow “what do I have to say to get you to vote for me” politicians that younger, angrier voters are rebelling against.
To understand why, you have to first understand that the systems that brought him all that wealth are not meritocratic.

I’m just being morally consistent. I understand why that would be confusing to most Americans.

Alright. Sounds like a good time for folks to strike back at the global hegemon. Please, hit us while we’re down.

JFC. When are Democrats going to realize that they need to stand for something? They are just constantly too afraid to advocate for a point of view. Stop with the consultant-brained 5 dimensional chess bullshit and just make an argument. Persuade people of the merit of your worldview. In other words, lead.

The only thing I’ve changed is that I’m only going to be voting for people that I actually support, and my support is now almost entirely based on policy. I’m not doing the ‘hold my nose’ harm reduction strategy anymore. It’s become clear to me, after decades of failure, that such a strategy only breeds a middling, unprincipled leadership that stands for nothing and enables the fascist right. I also now embrace litmus tests, like the Gaza issue. It’s an effective shortcut to understand whether a national candidate is corrupted.
So for example, whereas I voted for Harris in ‘24 despite her awful foreign policy and disingenuous domestic policy, I will not be doing that again. Democrats need to do better.

Why doesn’t the international community ever do anything about the outrageous violence perpetrated by the US against this small nation?

When he leaves office there needs to be action to seize all of the ill-gotten gains that he, his family and colleagues have acquired. Any serious candidate wanting that office must have a serious, sweeping criminal investigation in their platform or they’re not qualified. Death is no reprieve either. When his bloated ass finally kicks, he needs to be prosecuted posthumously and the family needs to be torn to pieces. Claw all that money back and dump him into corner to be studied and ridiculed for all history.

What an interesting contrast to the US government and its extended ruling authority which is well known as a model of unity.

This is probably fake fear mongering propaganda from the feds designed to:
1.) manufacture consent for their war of choice 2.) excuse problems from ever crumbling infrastructure here in the US
That being said, Iran has every right to do this and worse, given what we keep doing to them.

Please please please understand that when you see media stories about stuff like this from AI companies, this is PR. They wrote this story and pitched it to media outlets. None of this is real. OpenAI does some version of this every six months or so. It didn’t happen. It’s fiction designed to attract attention and seed the idea that their technology is oh so powerful, so scary powerful that even they might not be able to contain it. This is meant to attract investors. That’s it.
I worked in technology PR for eleven years. That was before the AI bullshit, but it’s the same game. Believe me. There was a brainstorm meeting when they came up with this and someone wrote it on a whiteboard (or maybe these days it was a figjam). Actually, now that I think of it, they probably just had Claude write the pitch.
It. Didn’t. Happen.
Also, be aware that the media outlets reporting this slop also know it’s bullshit.
“hostile takeover” using the communication of ideas and persuading people to vote — so, literally ‘democracy’. Disagree on policy all you want, but if you’ve got a problem with the act of democracy, I humbly suggest that you aren’t a “Democrat” and democrats should ignore any guidance from you.
That moment you realize that the society you live in really doesn’t give a shit about your wellbeing in any capacity
