  • Firstly, they’ll repair and/or make any guitar look better. It’s their job so they’ll do it. Secondly and more importantly, it isn’t about if the guitar is damaged or not. It was clearly loved for what it was, it was probably more about the history of it than anything else.
It’s really not hard to not fuck with other peoples stuff without their consent. And it’s real sad that people like you exist that don’t seem to understand that.

  • This is the 4th time I’ve seen a post about this the past week with a top comment saying exactly the same (just with different words). It feels like being back on the latter years of reddit. And please don’t misunderstand me, I don’t disagree with you or the other three top comments about this at all, it’s just a new experience here on lemmy that mirrors what I’ve seen on reddit and other places before that which weirdly worries me. It’s this feeling of “this place has gotten too big or too divided to a point where the same thread happens over and over within a very short amount of time”.
But I’m gonna be clear about thinking it’s very possibly just my brain doing the weird shit it does and it not actually being a bad sign or the state of lemmy.

  • I’m thinking one of three possibilities:

    1. They had installed a larger tank but hadn’t changed the valves or whatever to handle that amount of weight so it gave out, and that same weight made most of it come out quicker than it would have done with the original tank.
    2. Another custom change where they could empty the tank from inside the vehicle and while it was in motion.
    3. The tank of that model (or if it was custom) was unshielded and ruptured from the weight, spilling out quicker than it could have done normally.

Either way, that’s a shit load (hah!) of excrement to be released like that. I’m with you on wanting more details, someone must know.

  • Nah, not for mosy people. I think that’s actually more common with people who use local models (maybe that’s what you were saying though?). My, albeit few, interractions with “normal” people have been pretty scary with how much they use AI in many ways. Most of my friends are very tech savvy and my family goes to me about stuff like this so they don’t use any either (because I’ve taught them, not just told, how bad and dangerous it can be). It’s not very often I talk with anyone else about this but, as said, the times I have it’s been real scary.
