The entire store was decked out for Christmas and the Thanksgiving stuff was on clearance.

Of course, since I live in a decaying, haunted house, Thanksgiving themed decor would clash with the natural ambiance .

I don’t have a lot of hope. For anything useful to survive in this country, we need progressives to take over. However, I’m afraid things would have to get much, much worse before that could happen.

I’m doing the whole peaceful, “No Kings”, protests, but unless they really, really grow, it isn’t going to go anywhere.

Despite what seems to be the case, I don’t think the right is winning solely because of racism. President Pedophile won both the first time and, bafflingly, the second time because he promised to make things better.

It was a lie, but it was a lie too many people were desperate to hear.

Giving hope is a winning strategy, but it needs to translate into results.

I’m not really hoping for the Democrats to win. I’d like to see the right (both Democrat and Republican) lose. I’d like to see a real progressive option emerge. What we need more than anything is people to run. However, the people who actually care about the people are mostly also struggling to survive.

I do think there’s a better chance of a progressive revolution in the Democratic party than there is in the Republican party. These kinds of flips have happened several times before. I’d like to see it happen again before it’s too late. However, we (the people) have to get a whole lot nastier.

To be fair, I don’t allow myself to watch Christmas movies or listen to Christmas music except between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so my mind wasn’t there yet.

My son and his fiancee have three fairly screwed up cats. The least physically disabled one had been in a situation where he couldn’t get enough food. So, for a long time he would eat anything, even things that weren’t food. He has often had bad diarrhea. Everywhere.

My mom used to make them. My wife and I tried three times and never managed to get them right. A month or so ago I tried again. I ran out of lemon and had to go to the store after I put them in the oven. When I got home I realized I set the temperature too high. I pulled them out, added more water and the additional lemon and put them back in the oven at the right temperature for a while longer.

They came out perfect.

Somewhere I have an image of a floppy disk containing the source and compiled version of a program I wrote for a Chaos Theory class in college in 1992.

It’s a double pendulum simulator. Written in Turbo Pascal for MS Dos.

I wrote a rudimentary window management library for it. It had multiple panels for input and display. One panel allowed you to set the initial parameters for the pendulum (lengths, weights, position). One displayed the pendulum, there were a couple that displayed different graphs of the motion.

The last time I ran it was in the mid 2000’s.
