Ik dacht overigens dat het uberhaupt niet toegestaan was om die camera’s op de openbare weg gericht te hebben, tenzij het echt niet anders kan.

Edit:

deurbellen met een ingebouwde camera mag je niet zomaar ophangen richting je buren of de openbare weg. Een deurbelcamera moet gericht zijn op je privé terrein. Ook moet de camera duidelijk zichtbaar zijn. Als dit niet het geval is, moet je een bordje ophangen met de tekst ‘hier is cameratoezicht’.

Als je de openbare weg toch filmt, kun je de privacy van mensen schenden en geldt de Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG). Alleen met een redelijk belang, zoals een juwelier die vaak te maken heeft met ramkraken, mag je een camera richten op de publieke ruimte.

Yeah I’m sure this is a rare use case - just sending them over to the desktop straight away via sync is way faster. I also browse differently on my phone than on my desktop, but I don’t see how linking the devices hampers that in any way.

(In fact, I don’t think it “syncs” tabs in the first place, as in, makes sure you have the same tabs open on both devices? It just makes a list of tabs on your other devices available, and allows you to manually send individual tabs.)

Wat Odido niet goed heeft gedaan, is data langer bewaren dan nodig. (En ook langer dan ze in de voorwaarden aangeven.)

Tegelijkertijd: je ziet wel dat dit soort gebeurtenissen soms leidt tot een soort institutioneel trauma, waardoor ze in de toekomst misschien juist voorzichtiger met je data omgaan. Zie ook: de medewerker die bang is ontslagen te worden nadat ie net per ongeluk z’n baas €1 miljoen heeft gekost door een foutje te maken. Zijn baas: “Je ontslaan? Nadat ik net €1 miljoen heb geïnvesteerd in je ontwikkeling?”

Ik ben helaas sceptisch dat de concurrenten van Odido het op dit vlak beter doen.

That’s all true except for that last paragraph - the rights and conditions they gave you to existing code are irrevocable, so you’ll continue to be able to use the last open source version indefinitely, including the feature you made yourself. It’s just that they can release new versions and not publish the source code of their additions, even if that new release also includes a feature you made yourself.

Ik kende een vrouw uit Hong Kong, woonde nu in Amerika, en haar dochter zat op een “Spanish immersion”-school. Dat kind kreeg dus bijna native Chinees, Engels en Spaans mee. Dan zit je wel gebakken in de wereld, lijkt me zo.
