The cynic in me would say that a word like “magical” in relation to eating a meal is metaphor; and no one will bat an eye at using it that way.
But the whole “self improvement” space is so full of grifts, cons, and empty promises that applying that same system of metaphors does a disservice. If you’re using it the same way as you would a delicious meal, saying that a mantra is “magical” can prove true for one person while another finds it a waste of time. But if you’re using it the way that a self-help grifter would, where the Mantra is implied to contain implicit properties in and of itself that are Magic, that’s where trouble starts.
