Not a bad take itself, but an open letter responding to asinine demands from some of your favorite bipartisan ghouls. In case you thought Hackernewses had the worst TechTakes out there.

Representative Mike Gallagher, chairman of the House select committee on China, said in a statement to Reuters that the Commerce Department needs to “require any American person or company to receive an export license prior to engaging with PRC (People’s Republic of China) entities on RISC-V technology.”

Can’t tell if this is just a case of neo-McCarthyist brainworms or a case of x86/ARM vendors exploiting the former to sabotage competition.

I have concerns about China’s growing economical and military advantage in footgun technology. What is the Biden administration planning to do about the millions of Americans and US allies who are not shooting themselves in the foot?

Good point, from the very start RISC was developed with government funding in the people’s republic of Berkeley.

Almost forgot it was a commie ISA to begin with. Should have banned it ages ago.
