Imagine running a marathon, and about halfway in, you’re well ahead and think “this is going great!”, so naturally you pull out a gun and shoot yourself in the foot multiple times.

You assume he is running to win the marathon. No he is being paid to run and make sure that the wrong people don’t win.

No, they don’t fully support Jeffries. They get as much done as they can with the limited power they have. And that includes having to play nice with the top dogs in your party from time to time.

Now that there are people showing up to vote and making a difference, there is some leverage. It may still take a while, but we can throw all of the deadbeats out on their asses.

this didn’t happen in 2022, nor 2018, nor 2012, nor 1996, nor 1992, nor 1984, nor 1978, nor 1972, nor 1964; what makes you think it’s going to happen now?

Ugh… that’s really disappointing. Hopefully the midterms will change the calculus and they’ll now support someone ready to get shit done.

i don’t know how to ask them without being condescending: i’m geniunely curious as to why you believe this time around with the democrats in control will be any different than any of the other times that the democrats were also control

Oh, I’m quite conflicted/anxious… I hope it’s different, this time. However, the statements by Dem ‘leadership’ suggests they are still very aware of where their paychecks are coming from and that they have no intention of disrupting that.

it sounds like you were just like me back in 2008 when obama won — willfully ignoring the history that’s shown for the last half century that democrats have always squandered their victories because they want the same things republicans want, effectively locking us into this good-cop/bad-cop routine since 1964.

i remember kicking myself back in 2008 because i’d already been fooled in 1996 and 1992, and i guess the system ensures nobody learns from history — so people keep discovering this reality for themselves until this country can’t afford to keep the propaganda that keeps us from learning this history alive.

I find it frustrating that I’m one of the few people who clearly state that Obama sucked…

Given that no other variables change, then we can’t expect any difference this time around. However, there were some more progressive democrats elected this time and the people are starting to get more engaged. If we can unite and bludgeon the obstructionist Dems this time around, then there could at least be some progress possible.

I’m not holding my breath, though…

Jesus Christ you guys give up real easily. Get over it, yes it’s fucked. Give a solution. Let’s actually make a concerted effort and form either a new party and vote on them as a collective or quit whining. It’s not just a ‘two party’ system, I know it is in actuality, but we could fucking fight it. But the movement would need to be massive.

They work for the regime, they are not traitors.
And it has been like that since forever.
americans must be immensely stupid to keep falling for this never ending show.

And “need to get got”? LOL

you will get absolutely nothing, besides dumb you’re also obedient, pacified and weak cowards.
      All talk no action.
An embarrassing joke to the world.
