For almost 80 years, an important part of German culture has been to fight Nazis and wannabe Nazis.

What part of “German culture” are you proud of Mr Musk? Go on

If he tells us the truth, the media, especially the American media, will have lots of punditry debates and discussions about whether or not his love of Nazi Germany means he loves Nazis. And I’m sure his never actually evaluated autism (which he calls Asperger’s, a now discarded medical term but one favored by the Nazis) will be brought up.

I was diagnosed with aspergers and that’s still my diagnosis on paper just fyi. I do call it autism these days though.

Either way it’s cool that all of us autistic folks can get away with anything we want these days I guess. Fucking ableists.

Yeah, it’s a bullshit excuse in every way. And there’s just no evidence that he has ever been diagnosed. He’s just declared it, and probably because he thinks it’s a “get out of asshole free” card, which it is not. I have yet to meet a high-functioning autistic person who has trouble with basic concepts of right and wrong. Maybe they make mistakes, but when you say, “that’s rude” or whatever, they generally acknowledge it and apologize.

My family has quite a few autistic people in it, including my daughter. None of them would ever, ever “accidentally” do a Nazi salute when they were excited.

I don’t see why anyone would either. It’s a very specific gesture that doesn’t really come naturally to anyone tbh. Humans don’t generally go around saluting eachother in excitement, and that goes for any salute. Nazi or otherwise.

This has always made me pause. I’ve seen the biggest hateful racists enjoy a nice meal at a Mexican restaurant and be completely unaware of the irony.

It’s always been about exploitation. Deport some, scare the rest, then you can abuse them for cheap labor.

So fucking crazy that a south African who lives in America is telling Germany not to mix cultures. Doesn’t really make sense until you think about the fact that they’re just talking about being white.

It’s good to be proud of German values, but racism and being a nazi are not German values. Tolerance, punctuality and „Lüften“ are German values.

No no, you see it was a Roman salute (it wasn’t), so all he was doing was hailing an emperor who was in favor of slavery and had no issue with genocide- and if you are wondering which emperor I mean, it’s all of them.
