I’m sorry, but they swore oaths to the Constitution. It’s not about practicality or what’s politically expedient—it is their duty to impeach if the president commits crimes in office, which he has. Do your fucking jobs. Wtf.

Without 13 red turncoats it accomplishes nothing except take up debate time slots, which might be worthwhile tbh.

On the one hand I’m furious. On the other hand it’s absolutely understandable seeing how infested things are with fascists right now. That it would have really only been for show. And that effort might be more effective elsewhere. There is going to be some effort somewhere right? Guys? Guys!?

That’s the thing, an impeachment proceeding would at least create a government record of what evidence there is of what crimes and impeachable offenses there are, and the backup plan seems to be to hope they can win midterms

Ideally, absolutely. Realistically I don’t think they care about a record of their crimes. They’re committing them in Broad daylight. And daring anyone to do anything about it. There will be plenty to record whether or not any impeachment is pushed. If it can mean action can be put somewhere to make a real difference I’m all for it. Yes I’d like to see all the crimes cataloged etc. But that is getting to be a Herculean task at this point. They commit them like breathing. Two things they shouldn’t do.

They should just plan for a 1 and a half year impeachment proceeding, run a lot of their candidates on being antitrump and pro impeachment, and obstruct or boycott all remaining legislative processes possible until the Trump administration submits to a rule of law. If they play a long game of it, it can help them win midterms. By then, they could have the votes and have made the case.

they arent even trying. They cross the aisle to vote with republicans all the time now.

Google “dems join republicans” and feast your eyes on the betrayals, one after another.

They probably could get enough votes for impeachment, not enough in the Senate to remove him. So it would be career suicide for any Republican to vote to impeach him. As they know there would be retribution for fulfilling their oath.

There are Republicans who voted to impeach Trump and called him guilty previously, who are still in the Senate. It’s definitely possible, I just dont see them doing it knowing it will make them become targets after the Senate doesn’t remove him

I don’t know any actual activists who are foolish enough to think Impeachment would do anything. Just liberals LARPing in the streets while it’s safe.

Dems are awfully busy voting for whatever the republicans tell them to vote for. Who has the time for impeachment proceedings? Lots of bills to pass.
