They elected a pedophile and convicted felon who put together the least qualified government in history, and cheered when a South African Nazi threw out Nazi salutes behind the podium of the president. If none of that could make them feel ashamed, then falsely blaming the shooting on their current greatest enemy, trans people, has no chance.

With radical politcal groups, this is a feature not a bug. By going along with obvious bullshit, you prove your loyalty to the tribe.
