The original 24 was always steeped in government-sponsored paranoia regarding the overblown danger of Islamic terrorism, up to and including Justice Scalia referencing an episode of 24 to justify his arguments for why torture is totes okay.
I somehow have no doubt in my mind it will be used the same way in the modern political climate, to further exacerbate irrational fears about dangerous brown immigrants of any culture. I mean, holy fuck, we’re dealing with insane people acting like Zohran Mamdani personally orchestrated 9/11 even though he was 11 when 9/11 happened.
Just, fuck right the fuck off Howard Gordan and Kiefer Sutherland. I actually really liked Kiefer Sutherland as an actor right up until 24 and then I lost all fucking respect for him.
He even huffed so many of his own farts regarding the role, he accosted Andy Samberg long before Samberg was famous when The Lonely Island was filming their teeth whitener sketch where Andy gets addicted to teeth whitening strips. Thought he was saving an old woman only to realize he was interrupting a sketch comedy short film shoot.

I think they’re referring to the fact that Jack Bauer said “dammit” every other sentence in the original run.
“Dammit Chloe I need that protocol.”
“Where is the bomb dammit?!”
“Dammit Kim, I need the dammit schematics to the nuke dammit!”
And every other line was whispered while the next was yelled.
