The only way conservatives could ever have the moral high ground is if they get to define “moral” as something very different from “ethical”.
They entrench themselves into capitalism so deeply because it allows them to do exactly that. Wealth is virtue, because the invisible hand gives those who contribute more, and those who don’t less. Please ignore all the systems that ensure the wealthy stay wealthy while the poor have no way in; you’d have to be “woke” to believe those systems exist.

If we’re only talking recent politics, did they lose it when they decided the attempted insurrection shouldn’t disqualify someone from being president, or when they gave up targeting criminal immigrants and just decided to round up as many as they could in order to fill quotas?
