Kinda meta, but getting my GM all set up with FoundryVTT server running on a proper box with nightly backups instead of just on his personal computer that has borked itself several times.
Nice stability improvement!
Its been awhile but I was doing some play by discord on pathfinder one shots and man. There was this guy that just had such a good setup and really encourage role play and it was just great. My old meatspace group used to talk about one day playing in the old folks home and man would I ever like that as an ending.
Old folks home TTRPG could really be something
You could bend Brindlewood Bay the tiniest bit to do that.
Recently had one of my Hunter: The Reckoning(OG) players try and push IC and OOC on the identity of the mysterious cab driver in their game.
Our party was in the Feywild and trying to get into a major city under siege and suspicious of anyone trying to get in. We eventually get into a situation where we can talk to the city guards, who realize we’re probably not here to destroy the city, but determine the best thing to do with us is arrest us, throw us in jail, and deal with us later. The guards insist on handcuffing the party, a little bit as a request and a little bit as a threat.
Now as it happens our guide to the Feywild is a tiny creature who the party doesn’t really trust and is a wanted creature by many people, including this city. They are also our only real chance of finding our way around. So in order to keep the tiny creature safe he hid in my large dwarven beard.
As the party is about to get handcuffed my character refuses and begins to try and convince the guards that this is all unnecessary. However the tiny creature in my beard has different plans. Utilizing the power of my characters Truename (there is a reason we didn’t trust him) he commands my character to give up arguing and agree to be handcuffed. Maybe he didn’t trust my negotiating ability. Maybe he didn’t trust that I wouldn’t give him up. Either way the party is now handcuffed, powerless and marching to jail.
My character, having his freewill taken from him, is angry. As the party marches to jail I ask the DM to clarify exactly what command my character is under. I then ask if it would be against that command to purposely fall forward, on my face, beard first. As it turns out, that would be allowed. And so in an attempt to “get even” with the tiny Fey creature hiding in my large dwarven beard, my character “falls” causing both myself and the Fey creature to take damage.
It was the only damage I took that session.
