Pollution and climate issues aren’t going to bring total and utter annihilation. Just things like food and water scarcity and wars/famine/health issues due to those things. Having a lot of money absolutely will insulate people from the horrors of these things.
You’re only at risk to things like this if you aren’t rich. Which is why they don’t care.
