TL;DR: Mozilla recently released AI controls for Firefox — a single control panel that lets people disable AI features in the browser or pick and choose which to leave on. On the surface, this sounds like a win for user choice in an era of AI-everything.
I hate the stuff, but most “normies” nowadays can’t stop using it. Sadly, Firefox knows its users better than we do, and most of them will soon be demanding a full agentic experience from their browsers, able to open the news, answer their email and brush their teeth without the effort of even a mouse click. Never underestimate the disposition of the average person towards not thinking.
