Some World Cup regulars are skipping matches hosted by the United States, voicing concerns about violent immigration crackdowns and visitor safety.

And I don’t blame them one bit.

    Probably 99% of the people who go to the World Cup will be fine. Even the ones who are non-white, or are obviously muslim or something.

    I have 2 muslim friends who travel to the US at least once a month for business. Obvious visible minorities, obvious muslims.

    I cant fathom how they have the confidence to do this but anecdotally, they’ve never had an issue. It’s definitely one of those, high damage, low probability things in terms of risk management.
