Smart move. Give decades of profits to others, then nationalize to move all the risk and hundreds of years of waste safekeeping to the taxpayer.

So? All nuclear fuel is still coming from outside the country. That’s like nationalizing all faucets in peoples homes and claiming you secured access to clean water.

So? Having to rent your faucets from some company would mean less control, owning them is more control. Can the water company screw you over, sure, nobody is denying that. But only one company having the opportunity to screw you over is better than two.

As I said here: The energy supply is still 100 % depended on imports regardless of who owns the gas or nuclear power plant.

They are beyond their expiry date. The owner has a fund aside for its decommissioning.

I’m guessing that not only do we pay to take over, the current owner also gets to keep the massive fund.
