on this topic, a cool idea we just thought of is to take an LCD TV with a broken LCD panel (which we have), take out the panel assembly, remove the LCD glass, and install a printed piece of artwork (perhaps something over top to protect the artwork? or maybe not), from there hooking up the backlight to its own power supply and putting the thing up with some framing/trim or maybe just on its own. in fact we might actually start on that right now. yay distractions!!! x3

not the best CRI ever and kinda high drive voltage, but still promising
probably gonna go grab some white LED strips. will provide some more updates in some time :)
