          That’s interesting too! I live in West Los Angeles and the only Jamal I know is Iranian. Looking online though, except for the murdered journalist Jamal Kashoggi, I’m seeing mostly Black sports stars. So, still racist, as expected.

        For the racists, Jamal is considered a stereotypical black name.

        Also, why do I suspect that the sex trafficker of minors pronounces Julio as “jool-ee-o”?

          Not just racists. For lots of Americans the only exposure to the name is African Americans. That in and of itself isn’t racist. Not to say they don’t take it to a racist place but still
