    Wouldn’t sites like Lemmy servers be forced to comply, too?

      And this is on purpose. The next step is a state intranet accessed by thin clients tied to your ID or face, where you can only say what the state approves for you to say or see what the state approves for you to see.

      And finally you won’t be allowed to own your own devices anymore.

      Those hosted in the US will be subject to US law, yeah. Those hosted elsewhere, though, can tell the US government to pound sand.
