Just over a year ago, David Hogg, then the newly-minted vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, found himself unceremoniously pushed out after he called on the party to back primary challengers to unseat members of a moribund establishment.
Now, as progressives notch victory after victory against the party’s conservative old guard and are once again galvanizing young voters thought to have been lost, the 26-year-old reformer says it proves he was right all along.
The neo libs don’t care if you’re right. They don’t support your ideals and they want you to have no voice.
Fuck the neo libs. Fuck the fascists. They can rot together in hell. Maybe the Socialists can show them how governing is supposed to fuckin work.
We’ll see if they can along long enough to do that.
I wish moderate libs would understand that the demsocs are helping to move the Overton window further left, which is a good thing because it’s moved way too far to the right due to the ratchet effect. I mean, Jesus, do libs not know how to negotiate? You know compromise will be necessary, so start left of the position you want to end up at. You start at democratic socialism but you end up at a relatively modest, European style social democracy. If that’s too far left for you, well, you might as well just cut the crap and join the Republican party now.
2020s Democrats are mostly 1980s Republicans that are more okay with diversity.
The second half of this statement is debatable
As someone who lived in the 80s, it isn’t debatable. A gay person outside of highly liberal cities, had to hide being gay or they were at a severe disadvantage. That is now true in much fewer locations.

The party is lead by people who would be Republicans if they happened to live in a red state. They don’t actually believe in anything. They just seek power. People like this become Republicans in red states and Democrats in blue states. Centrist wafflers in purple states.
Why would moderate libs car about “going left.” They want to support the “just world” they grew up in and ensure they are never made uncomfortable.
EEU social democracy is dying quickly too. It did not work. There is no left. Ever since the Reagan and the fall of the USSR and the “third way”, the so called left does not believe in anything any more. Only power for themselves and taking certain positions to get elected.
History is full of examples of democratic socialists getting slaughtered, literally. The US is responsible for much of it. The plutocrats are definitely going to try to kill them or put them in camps.

Shouldn’t we want for the DNC to not prop up some primary candidates over others? I don’t think Hogg should have been procedurally yeated out like he was, but I do feel like the DNC playing favorites is something that we as voters have historically objected to.
The DNC should not be a king maker for sure. But pointing out inconsistencies or irregularities is a particular candidates stances with some national policy seems ok I guess. We all aren’t gonna agree on everything so a very specific national policy seems like a bad idea as well. But in the end the people should be defining what they want the party to be not the other way around.
