Well, this is an unpopular opinion discussion. It does.
I knew BBQ would be a touchy one, especially among US users. I think it should be possible to have them, but preferably at places that can organise them in parks, or something.
I guess you just offended a BBQ lover. There’s 8 billion of us, I don’t see why one would downvote someone for having different preferences. Claiming it overrated was a bold move, though.
Oh I enjoy a good BBQ, but the sheer emphasis many put on them is… really weird.
I think many who would downvote me conflate the social aspects with the “BBQ” part. Just throw a damn party! I don’t care what you cook but the point is it doesn’t NEED to include one of the most wasteful and silly forms of cooking.
Again, not bashing BBQ as an actual cooking practice: A BBQ house restaurant is a beautiful thing if they’re not fucking it up. Though that doesn’t mean every John Doe needs a BBQ in their back yard for a party! It’s about how weirdly popular they are in the US.

Thanks for explaining!
BBQ is overrated. Especially in the US.

Not about how viable or tasty they are.
