There’s an high likelihood that the cat doesn’t care or is as scared as Mimi https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/149477180
I have held my cat up in the air as a flyswatter before. It kinda works.
My cat was confused at first, then realised this was a really fun game where he can finally reach the flies. But he just kind of bats them around for fun like they’re an elaborate cat toy. I didn’t even realise it was possible to deal nonlethal 0dmg to a fly. I still do it sometimes, but he’s so useless at killing things 😂 literally wouldn’t hurt a fly
Our cat loves to kill mosquitoes and such. Understandably he doesn’t like to play with stink bugs much, but I’m still stuck in the conundrum that he wants to attack wasps. If one gets in I don’t want him to get stung, but also him getting stung would probably be what would defer him going after wasps, or he may never be stung, but it always ends with me trying to capture or kill the wasp and fighting to keep the cat at a safe distance with my leg, arm and anything else I can use.
Hah, me with my dogs. They love chasing and killing flies, but the downside is they also go after bugs with stingers. I always have to yell at them to leave those alone, because I don’t want to find out how they react to a sting and I know they wouldn’t learn anything from the experience, lol.
our puggle, slaps the wasps until they’re stunned and then sucks the juices out like people do to seafood. kept finding stingers and wings around 😂
Sky raisin’s and spicy sky raisin’s. Yet one more doggy delicacy.

It’s only Gregor, chill.
My cat had a spider fren for a little while that she refused to kill and eat like any other bug in the house. His name was Gerard.
In the last apartment we rented shortly after a new next-door neighbor moved in, we started finding roaches in our place. 100% came from the neighbor because she’s nasty. One night I felt something crawl on me in the bed. Yep, a roach. Fun times.
I have to keep my window a little bit open because I use a window AC unit. Unfortunately, the build quality isn’t great and the unit is old, so there are small gaps around it. Unsurprisingly, bugs get in and, I guess because I live in a fairly rural area, the diversity is kind of impressive. I would be very surprised if nothing had climbed on me in my sleep. Just a few days ago I was laying in bed reading and a moth tried to fly straight up my nose, then into my eye. I don’t think either of us enjoyed the experience.
A week or two ago, I got an irritated spot on one of my eyes. I don’t know what caused it; maybe it was another moth. Anyway, I kept track of it but didn’t worry too much because there were no other symptoms. Then, one late night or early morning, I was trying to sleep but having no luck. As I laid with my eyes closed, I kept seeing flashes, but when I’d open my eyes there would be nothing flashing.
I was worried that my eye irritation had finally come to fruition and my retinas were detaching or something. That didn’t help with the insomnia … Eventually, though, I happened to open my eyes just as a lightning bug (or firefly or whatever your region calls them) flew right past my nose, blinking merrily.
That was a relief!
Aww, I’ve seen only a couple fireflies this year, but I guess that’s to be expected in a city. I don’t generally mind other bugs and spiders, I just relocate them (or turn them into a pancake if it’s a mosquito). Just the other day I had to rescue two larger spiders that couldn’t climb out of our kitchen sink. I don’t like them crawling on me, it’s just a lizard brain reflex, but spiders are cool otherwise.
Roaches on the other hand… they’re too fast and they only appear if there’s something nasty going on. In this case, our ex-neighbor would leave food leftovers on the balcony table to marinate for over a week. She kicked out a rug on the balcony that her cat pissed all over and it stank for well over a week of cat piss. Don’t think she ever cleaned that up. She also leaves her cat for weeks alone when she’s gone, so I’m gonna assume the place on the inside also gets nasty.
Kitty meets Gregor Samsa
Me with my dog. She also doesn’t care. She only hunts flies.
Yeah, totally accurate.
So scary
i remember out kitty used to just play with roaches
