    This would be more interesting if we knew what the prompts were that led this AI Agent to email this professor. For all we know it was prompted to email him and ask these questions, rather than it actually seeking him out and looking for answers on its own.

      It was absolutely specifically prompted. Likely not for them specifically, but to beg for money from identifiable people with publicly accessible info and emails. LLMs don’t have desires or wants. They don’t know what they ask. The LLM has no concept of begging nor any ‘concepts’ at all, what so ever.
