Make no mistake this is a trick.

Russia HAS NO DIESEL TO EXPORT. They’re importing at a huge government loss from India.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/world/articles/russia-import-diesel-fuel-while-135000913.html

This fake deal accomplishes exactly two things:

    1. It lets Trump give Putin money for arms against Ukraine and all Putin has to do is middle man Indian diesel.
    2. It lets Trump attack Ukrainians when they strike Russian refineries because they’re "bombing our American diesel supply chain.

The US is a NET EXPORTER of diesel. They don’t need more fuel. The problem is the market price is increasing due to mostly Hormuz since Russian oil is sanctioned. All he’s doing is lifting this sanction to pay Putin to buy arms. Stopping Putin from trading fuel for arms was the entire purpose of the sanctions in the first place.

    Trump is a traitor.

They make it sound like Russia is handing over the fuel. The “weak” have been holding off buying shit from Russia because it was a way of fucking Russia’s economy. Trump just buckled.

Buckled for nothing and it won’t even work because the sanctions were passed by Congress and even Roberts isn’t that much of a partisan hack, yet.

Isn’t this like 2.3 million barrels? And the us uses 2.9 million barrels per day? My math might be off though

That’s what I thought too, 300.000 tons might sound like a lot but the US (not even including the global markets part of the post) use A LOT of fuel. It’s quite literally a drop in the bucket

I save a Mr Global video and I think he said that 300k tons in October was like 18 minutes of fuel based on usage. And the 500k tons in November was 30 minutes.

So very much nothing at all. Which is why it was reported in tons and not barrels.

Yeah, it’s a bit of an exaggeration… but it’s still less than one three hundred and sixty fifth of the annual usage by the population of the country. And we’re not even bringing petrol / gasoline into the equation - as I understand it.

These numbers start to put fossil fuel usage into perspective.

Also the entire problem is that he started a war with Iran over bullshit situations he created.

We were already not importing Russian oil, to support our global interests.

Now. Losing a war with a country who didn’t invade us AND helping another country Invade their neighbor.

back-of-the-napkin math and a couple quick ddg, says half a day’s consumption. 2m barrels vs ~ 4m daily consumption (from statista; 3.83m bbl daily ave first week oct 2025).

Flailing to save face with a likely disastrous upcoming midterm for his ilk. The question is if the American voter base is unintelligent enough to fall for this while also clueless enough to see that this directly contradicts the “Lindsay Graham” sanctions against Russia introduced just one month ago. Unhinged discordance between foreign and economic policy though he’s managed to skirt accountability for that kind of incoherence so many times before. I hope the American people are tired of seeing their leadership swoop in with dysfunctional solutions for crises they ultimately created.

I can see some of the American voter base falling for this but sooner or later they’re going to associate worsening cost of living with the people in charge. The illusion can only be maintained for so long.

Oh and let’s please appreciate that this isn’t his first “highly succesful call with Vladimir Putin” (sheesh, he even added the first name in full. Truly a fan) by a long shot.

And even worse, the propaganda gets inserted into spaces where it shouldn’t be under the guise of “hurr durr look how outrageous this is?!”

Don’t repost propaganda. It’s propaganda because it is insidious, it works, and people think they are above it.

The US rejected Iran’s recent 7-day offer to reopen hormouz aka provide cheap diesel to the world again on top of returning to peace, now add that to this news along with the recent military build up around Iran means the US and Israel are %100 going back to war with Iran again soon.

Trump won’t repay favours, so that particular aspect isn’t much of an issue.
