  • I don’t think anyone is trying to minimize your issues; it’s not usually as black and white as it seems. However, your issues have made others need to step in for the community. You’ve taken it out of your hands and involved others, can’t go back. I’d say at this point, it’s best to let go and atone how society sees fit.

  • Homie, it doesn’t matter. This is one of those most basic societal rules; don’t harm others (some exceptions like self defense, etc) and then don’t do shit with kids. You are the adult, it is entirely on you to police yourself. It seems you weren’t able to, so others have stepped in. If that’s what it takes, that’s what it takes.

  • Surprised at all the talk about curtailling the program that we spent mo this yelling that they were gonna change? P2025 had this all laid out. If you can’t fucking read it or refused to do so, or refused to listen to media who told you it was going to happen, you deserve the outcome you’re getting. We don’t, but you sure as fuck do.

No wonder they want the DoE gone. The stupider you are, the easier it is to get you to vote for them.

  • I left Reddit because of the 3rd party app ban. The core ethos of the Fediverse was not what was appealing for me. It is a feature, to be sure, but it wasn’t why I came here. I just like the Reddit format, and aside from Reddit, I don’t know anywhere that aggregates content and discussion on the scale Reddit does (aside from this side of Fediverse now). If it wasn’t the 3rd party applications, I definitely would be jumping ship with the current censorship, so leaving was inevitable.

With Bluesky, I just do not care about it. If Bluesky didn’t exist, I wouldn’t have a Mastodon account. I only had a Twitter account because my brother and friend told me in college that if I didn’t make one, they would make one on my behalf to tweet about me and my daily stuff, lol. Bluesky could come out 3 hours from now and announce that it will donate all revenue to the GOP, and I’d just delete the account and be done with the format. It’s purely a protest account, and I landed on Bluesky instead of Mastodon in the moment. And because I don’t care about that format, I have no reason to want to migrate the account to Mastodon. And, if I somehow do come to care about that format in the future, I’d rather start completely over on Mastodon than have an old account with old stuff on it.

Idk why anyone argues it. I’m on it, but only because I want to support Not Twitter®. I’m there to just be user no. 1663987 who doesn’t want to be on Twitter. I post a stupid thought, some sports commentary, and scroll the feed for a minute or two. If it went away tomorrow, I’d have 0 negative effects on my life in even the most miniscule way.

Like…I like it there, and people seem to want an alternative to Twitter pretty bad, but idk if Bluesky is it. But I also don’t care to join Mastodon, as this kinda format isn’t something I care about or take seriously, and I’d rather get information here. If I get a Mastodon account in the future, though, I’d rather not have it tied directly back to my spite posting account lol

  • I wonder if you could do it like the aggregation apps that used to exist for like…FB, Twitter, Instagram, where you can access/post from multiple accounts. My big thing is I hate having a dozen apps that do the same thing; so having an aggregator app is nice. For people who want the singular account, you could see both Bsky and Mastodon. For people like yourself, you could log in to both accounts and have separate feeds, just homed on the same app. And I imagine it’d be nicer, because Activity Pub would be the base, and it could display different UIs based on what information is being pulled, so it isn’t just like a Twitter feed on FB. You could get the Lemmy view on Lemmy, Twitter view on Bsky/Mastodon, Instagram on PixelFed, etc.

  • I think a lot of it is that it’s direction was a bit different. Halo was built on basically immortal Master Chief. Reach had Spartan 3s, which weren’t as “Master Chief”-y, and we see every one of em die on screen as part of the story. That is a pretty stark contrast to Chief never dying. Additionally, if IIRC, the multiplayer was meh, and multiplayer was a huuuuge deal at that time. The story was great (even despite what people said about it at the time) but the multiplayer didn’t carry the game, so it was generally a “play the story, go back to Halo 3” kinda game.

    My perspective on it, tho.

  • Fair, but I do think it is deeper. His current ties to the administration have some current implications, but even prior to that, the amount he received with govt contracts and his habit of over-promising and under-delivering make me skeptical that the upwards trajectory can largely be blamed on retail investors. His cult of personality certainly is a portion of it, but I don’t think it would just be that.

I’m also just a stupid person bitching on the internet, though, so give me thoughts whatever weight you’d prefer lmao.
