I think a big part of it began for survival. Since take this for example those living in colder environments after we lost our dense hair across our bodies. They had to wear things made from pelts. To sustain life in colder regions. Same goes for warm environments. The important areas of the body. It’s better to wear light clothing than get sunburn. Mainly if you don’t wish to go through the adaption to not need clothes. That’s gonna take 1000s of years of blisters, sunburns and more.

Beyond that. Let’s say you didn’t wear a shirt. Most times. People wear pants/shorts or something on their lower half for modesty and not to have their dick swinging. I mean have you ever thought how much of a nuisance it’d be. If you were running the jungles or forest with nothing holding that in. You’d slap that shit on trees, bush and sticks. That’s not fun.
