Found the theories a few years ago, desperately hoping we find the reality at some point
Sometimes I wonder if they’re the last sane people on the planet. Then I remember we have antibiotics, and my mom has a power wheelchair, and I wonder if there can’t be some middle ground.
Know anything about running a community? I’d join! I’d offer to make it, but I pretty much exclusively use mobile, and I’m not sure how to mod via mobile.
Man do I miss r/Hinduism! Also the advaita vedanta sub and a few others. Have you found any good lemmy communities for Dharmic philosophies?
If it’s what I’m thinking of, it’s called a lift gate. They’re pretty cool. But her chair is about 450 pounds, so it tends to sit the frame down on the tires when you use one of those because of where the weight is, sadly. :/
I’ll keep an eye out for both of those! Googled em and they’re pretty good sized it looks like. Her chair is pretty tall, but I wonder if it would fit if we took the headrest off.
My mom is disabled and uses a power chair (that does not fold. Medicare won’t pay for sensible things like that). Our choices were saving up to buy a wheelchair van, which is so far outside of our means that it may as well cost a million dollars, or buy a pick up truck and a set of ramps. We searched for months and months for anything small, and could not find it. Eventually went with a Nissan frontier, a 2012, so the larger model. I’d kill for one of these little things. Would be perfect for us.
Okay, serious question… Is lemmy supposed to be pronounced like the contraction of let+me? I’ve been pronouncing it like… Limb+E.
So, I don’t really play much, tbh. But that’s just me. I go through, like, phases where I play video games a lot for several weeks, and then don’t touch a game for several months. What I can say is, with the exception of TOTK on switch, the only thing I use is the SD. It’s the best game (or really, tech in general) purchase I’ve ever made. I’m poor as a MF, and I’d make that purchase over again if I had the option. Absolutely zero regrets. It’s perfect, and I love that I have it when I want it.

Iirc, lemmy.ml is a specifically leftist instance, right? They may have banned the word because of its sexist nature. A bit like allowing fuck, but not allowing the other f word that generally applies to gay men. Swearing isn’t the issue, slurs or derogatory terms are.
I’m still not entirely sure what kbin is. Is there a mobile app for it?
