Without knowing anything (beyond what’s said in the article) about Giant Bomb, I’d assume it’s the same path forward as when the F-word fucked up Gamepedia beyond all recognition. Find alternatives. In the case of Gamepedia other wiki hosting services, like Miraheze and wiki.gg, and more independently-hosted wikis. And some of the wiki.gg admins were Gamepedia admins, as far as I’m aware - it sounds like a similar restart may well end up being the case here too.

It sucks, especially because the F-word is good at search-engine optimisation, but it’s not the end.

There allready is precedent for banning parties. History and current events both show that people are fully ready to vote fascists into power. And also, you know what’s one of the big reasons so many people vote for fascists? Fascist propaganda. Banning fascist parties will help have fewer fascist citizens around (at least after a while).

… why would I want an online account? OneDrive is (or should be) optional, and can be replaced with any other cloud storage solution (and quite frankly ought to work on normal accounts too, even if requiring an online account specifically for OD). Updating the OS evidently works without an online account. Can’t currently think of another reason for it.

So I’d get one optional feature, and in return less privacy.
