  • Totally.

The first people I met that were vegan, trans, queer and used pronouns and also were internationalist intersectionalist (yes all of that at the same time) were punks in squats, who were poor, not seldomly drop outs (from school or in general) and most did not have rich or even economical okay parents. That was in the 90s-early 2000s.

But it is too hard for our Dr. Engineering to use words like they, fuck off.

Has some information about percentages for settlement areas, traffic areas and vegetation including rivers for Berlin.

With the given numbers of acres and using Berlin numbers they could create up to 180k plots of potential spaces. With 3-7million population and medium high rise (~4 floors) and that includes parks, public transport, regular transport and quite a bit of vegetation as well as ways to and from the city.

Though of course this doesn’t include any change in material conditions but only the ownership of the land which was already there. The 800 million were paid for the rights within the social relations to do all that, but the actual labour and the infrastructure costs are something that they likely won’t bear.

This of course means this project could have many reasons, but a part of them will be speculative. However I lean with the others who expect this to not work out or end up in scams.

  • That I lived in a building like that and it was a huge barrier, that we have to reduce barriers and that includes not fetishizing old outdated ways of construction. Electrical wheelchair lifts aren’t a solution, they are an addon. Add on ramps would demand a complete reconstruction of the setting, having a different entry for you by feet and by bike might work sometimes in this situation in does create additional barriers.

My point is that the lived experience of people who see barriers and problems to be accepted and the material structures we created are to be heavily critiqued.

Solutions to the problems are not addons, they are re-drafts of what is and what could be.

Edit You also are quite a new user to the lemmy-verse from this month (compared to multiple year old users posting to you), which mostly is reducing the quality on communities on one hand and also got quite a few comments deleted. I urge you to read up on nettiquette and change your attitude if you want to be a positive contributing influence to this community.
