  • I don’t have the know how to talk about safety and privacy, but here are some caveats.

I think you have to use their client and can’t add your adress to 3rd party clients like thunderbird. Their client is however nice to work with.

If you forgot your password, the only way to change it is by using a key that is given to you after account creation. Keep it safe! Check for spelling errors If you lost the note or it’s not in you passwordmanager or whatever you use, your account is not recoverable. Their support can’t help you reset your pw.

Other than that they make email encryption pretty easy with a checkbox right under the recipient in the email editor.

Another handy feature are the aliases. (Payed feature) You can set up some email adresses for certain purposes, and filter their traffic into different inboxes quite easily. If one of them.get’s compromised, deactivate and move in. Your master adress is probably still usable.

What I do not like is the fact that paying customers get support first.

  • You make a good point. I also used Telegram some years ago and never gotten invites to questionable channels, although I think you can search for channels in the app. But another way to learn about them is through influencers advertising them on social media like Twitter, facebook, insta etc. which brings us full circle xD

on twitter it’s in your face

I wrote a lengthy paragraph and realized that I don’t know how bad it is, and how to act accordingly. I agree with another person saying, that they are against bans on media. Maybe the EU could offer a compromise: Abide by some fancy schmancy laws that address content moderation or get lost. But then again, I do not trust politicians in the EU parliament to a) understand the technology and it’s limitations b) be interested in this, since there are many conservatives who could actually benefit from twitter being in the state it’s in.

  • Been there. I feel that stating your needs is often enough. Instead of explaining complicated and intimate thoughts/emotions tell the other person “I need some time for myself” or “I don’t want to speak about this topic” etc. … It strikes the balance between not making yourself vulnerable and setting boundaries.

Self check: maybe I feel this way because I became more happy with myself lately. Therefore: if it doesn’t work for you, that’s okay.

  • In Germany we have…

Markus Söder, who changes his opinion faster than the wind turns and likes to put his face on anything; Shirts, cups, giant chocolate eggs, you name it. He also was very big on making Bavaria a german Cape Canaveral. No Idea what happened to that. But he is a huge populist, so probably nothing.

Then there is Friedrich Merz, our soon to be chancellor. He comes off as cold, mysogynist and increadibly out of touch. Under his leadership his party (CDU) has slowly veered to the far right, integrating nazi viewpoints into their programm.

These two on their own are just right asshats, who can’t compare to Trump’s bullshit (yet), but if you would fuse them together… maybe?
